3 Easy Ways To Put Infant Hair Bows On Your Baby’s Head

Some babies take up to a few years before growing hair. If this is your baby, you will be pleased to know that putting a bow on her can be a smart way of accessorizing her. Also, it can help prevent unwanted gender comments that some people may make. Here are three ways to put infant hair bows on your baby’s hair.

Attach it directly to the baby’s head

• Apply a small amount of lubricant jelly onto the center of the bow on the part that you want to attach to the head of the baby. An alternative to lubricant jelly is white glue or corn syrup, but make sure it is water-soluble.

• Press the bow gently to the top of the head of your baby for about 5 seconds or just long enough till it sticks in place.

Apply water to the lubricant jelly at any time to remove the bow from the baby’s head. The water makes the adhesive to dissolve upon getting into contact with it, making it easy to remove from the baby’s head.

Use a headband on your baby

• Get a soft, elastic headband that correctly fits your infant’s head. Headbands made with fold-over elastic are the most preferred.

• Use a sewing needle and a thread to hand-stitch or sew an infant hair bow onto the elastic headband.

• The excess thread still hanging from the headband after sewing on the attached bow should be removed by cutting it neatly using a pair of scissors.

• Feel free to style the elastic headband around your infant’s head as you like.

Use a Hair Clip

• From a local craft store or a beauty supply store, obtain small and plain-style hair clips. Double-prong hair clips work well and usually measure about 4.44 cm long.

• Use craft glue or hot glue to attach a bow to the front end of the hair clip.

• Setting the hair clip down will let the glue dry completely

• Have a bow clip attached to your infant’s hair. Note that you can only attach bow clips to your baby’s head if she already has some strands of hair on her head.

Summary

When it comes to attaching infant hair bows on your baby girl, there are three easy ways of doing so. The first is attaching it directly on your kid’s head using lubricant jelly or any other water-soluble product. The other option is attaching it to an elastic band and finally, you can attach an infant hair bow to small hair clips. It’s as easy as that!
