Universally, everyone is looking for methods to maintain youthful and healthy skin, and it comes as no surprise that we try various anti aging skin care regimens to erase, reverse and rejuvenate. The bottom line is beauty is no superficial chase to maintain youthful skin. It’s a system that works together built from the inside out.
Your anti aging skincare regimen should consist of 3 stages; Cleanse, Moisturize, Protect. Now those are the basic standards for beauty. Of course, there are new methods to the anti aging revolution that compliment these three stages and help maintain your youthful face but let’s review a standard anti aging skincare regimen that will benefit your appearance, and work quickly to revitalize your skin.
Cleanse:
First things first — use a cleanser made just for your face. Soaps are too complex with added ingredients including preservatives and fragrances for your skin. This only dries out your skin and has the likelihood of promoting irritations and allergies. Use a mild liquid cleanser made for your face that won’t strip the essential oils and layer your dermis with unnecessary ingredients.
Exfoliation is part of the cleansing process but you don’t need a daily ritual to slough off the dead cells. Sure, cells regenerate quickly but not that quickly. When you exfoliate you’re not only getting rid of the dead skin cells but you’re getting rid of beneficial oils. While many individuals see exfoliation as a means to quick recovery, this isn’t true. Once a week is enough and its gives your skin time to stimulate new growth.
Moisturize:
Your skin soaks up moisture, especially when thirsty. Good moisturizers help build a barrier to keep your dermis hydrated and encourage the outer layers to build up collagen and maintain youthful skin. But then there are those moisturizers that are power builders and should remain at the top of your anti aging skincare arsenal.
Moisturizers that contain botanical ingredients will help naturally heal, calm and protect. Choose ones with chamomile, Vitamins E and B, Zinc and Copper. These ingredients protect cells from free radical damage as well as calm any irritations and act as anti-inflammatory.
Protect from Sun Damage
While we tend to think our skin gets sun burned and only minor sun damage occurs it’s deeper than that. Sunlight can damage your DNA because your skin absorbs the rays. So the basics of sunscreen are to slather on an SPF of 40, 60 or higher to protect and maintain that youthful face.
It’s never too late to begin any anti aging skincare regimen with strategic interventions and simple techniques.
