Types Of Tenements You Can Manage With Mining Tenement Software

Are you planning to engage in mining exploration? You’ll need to obtain an exploration license for the piece of land you are targeting. We call it a mining tenement and it’s meant to ensure you meet specific ecological standards. Today, there are programs you can use to manage these licenses. With mining tenement management software, you can do the following:

• View tenement status
• Track tenures
• Integrate with Google and accounting systems
• Manage multiple reports

Having said that, here are the common types of mining tenements you can manage with software:

Exploration Permit

An exploration permit is what it sounds like. It’s granted to allow the right to explore a specific land. So, it doesn’t mean that you can start mining but you are allowed to obtain samples that you can use to assess:

• Mineral types
• Mineral quality
• Mineral quantity

Prospecting Permit

This permit is meant to allow you to hand-mine specific minerals on a given piece of land for 3 months. Sometimes, the landowner may allow you up to 12 months to continue hand mining. So, it’s just a matter of building a better relationship with the landowner throughout the agreement period.

Mineral Claim

This is a mineral tenement that allows you to explore a specific mining area for one year. During this period, the permit allows you to either apply for the retention permit or the mining lease. Once the mineral claim is approved, you can put up posts on the claimed land.

Mining Lease

In case you want the absolute right to mine minerals on a specific land, you’ll need a mining lease. It doesn’t have a definite term as it is dependent on how long the minerals are mined and how willing the landowner is to extend the term.

Retention Lease

If the mining lease hasn’t been approved yet because of an undergoing investigation or economic reasons, you’ll need to apply for a retention lease. It comes with a 5-year term, which means that it is valid for 5 years. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have automatic renewals.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, you need mining tenement management software if you are looking to explore land meant for mining purposes. The program makes the management easy and so is the tracking of your exploration. You can consider such programs for the above types of mining tenements.
